the adventures of jeremiah...

life with jeremiah continues to be one nonstop, fun-filled adventure. his curiosity never ceases and he finds new ways of getting into mischief with each passing day. not only has his mobility increased but so has his vocabulary. the words he uses seems to reflect the aforementioned mischief he gets into: "no", "stop it", "bad bear" (bear is a nick name) seem to constantly flow from his lips. when mommy or daddy ask for a kiss or hug, he quickly replies with "no,no,no,no!". he also roars like a lion, barks like a dog, throws his arms up in the air when mommy or daddy yell "touchdown!", and loves to brush his teeth.

here are some pictures of where we have found the little guy (as well as what he's found to stuff in his mouth).

life's a blur...

hi everybody! i just finished the third week of the semester and my head is spinning. both karen and i feel like our wheels are going a mile a minute as we just try to maintain a level of normalcy in the midst of school, work, and home life. the priorities of raising jeremiah and having a healthy marriage are hard to maintain in the world we find ourselves in at the moment! as i've run from lecture to lecture, labored over hundreds of pages of course readings, and as karen has attempted to keep both our home and the local starbucks afloat, i've come to one conclusion: life can become little more than a blur at times.

as i pondered that thought, i began to look back at what possibly could have gone on in our lives that would have caused us to find ourselves in the frazzled state we're currently in. as i racked my brain, i quickly realized A LOT has gone on to bring us to this point. in fact, the last two years have brought change, change, and more change (did i mention there's been a lot of change?). not only has there been a lot of it, but it has come steadily now for an extremely long period of time.

don't get me wrong, change isn't synonymous with bad in my vocabulary. in fact, i would say that almost all of the change has been good. it has included finding out we were going to have a baby (apr '04), having the aforementioned baby (dec '05), adjusting to life with that baby (dec '05-forever), getting out of the air force (jun '05), visiting and living with family for the summer (jun-aug '05), moving to canada (sep '05), adjusting to living in a different country (sep '05-present), taking steps to meet new people and make new friends (sep '05-present), and finally, starting the graduate school experience (sep '05-present). in spite of how great these events and experiences have been, they definitely can knock you silly if you let them, as they come one after the other in what seems to be a never-ending barrage of change.

although we're treading water right now and look with anticipation to the time when things might slow down and be a little less adventurous (not sure that will ever happen), we are still enjoying life. we wouldn't change the change that's come one bit! here are some pictures of this crazy but fun time in our lives.

hope you are doing well... it has been good to hear from those of you that have written us comments on this site. thanks for being part of our lives!
